The Fargo DTC4500 single-sided card printer features a user-friendly SmartScreen™ graphical display offering easy setup and printing status notifications. - Direct-to-card printing with built-in erase and rewrite
The Fargo DTC4500 single-sided card printer produces ID cards using dye-sublimation printing for vivid color and accurate images and thermal transfer or resin thermal transfer for sharp black text and barcodes. In addition, the DTC45000 single-sided printer features a built-in erase and rewrite function that is ideal for temporary ID cards such as visitor badges. - Standard Ethernet connectivity
Featuring high speed USB and Ethernet ports, the DTC45000 single-sided printer can easily integrate anywhere you need it. With the built-in internal print server you can install it on your existing network (LAN) allowing remote access printing for high-volume card issuance without having the printer directly connected to your computer. - Enhanced printer and card security
The Fargo DTC4500 49000 printer is designed to migrate from lower to higher security levels, offering built-in printer password protection and optional fluorescent ribbons for Ultra-Violet or UV printing. - Optional dual-sided printing (field-upgradeable)
The Fargo DTC4500 49000 printer can also easily be upgraded in the field to dual-sided printing. Duplex printing allows for more space for additional card holder information or security features. An optional same-side input/output hopper can help fit the printer into tight workspaces. (Add this feature to your printer within the Options tab.) - Optional encoding (field-upgradeable)
The Fargo 49000 offers field-upgradable modules for encoding data for magnetic stripe, proximity, contact and/or contactless technology cards such as iCLASS for access control and other applications. (Add encoding capability to this printer within the Options tab.) - Optional single- or dual-sided lamination
Looking for an additional layer of security? Overlaminates provide tamper-proof, secure cards resistant to forgery. Furthermore, optional high-speed dual-sided simultaneous lamination can save valuable time. For an even higher level of security, the Fargo DTC45000 offers custom holographic overlaminates. Note: The lamination module is not field-installable. If it is not purchased at the time of printer purchase, the lamination module must be installed by our trained technicians. Lamination requires dual-sided printing. We purchased this printer to get a company of 300 plus employees photo IDs on their badges. In order to make the process flow smoothly we took everyone's photo first, did batch printing and then distribute badges. The only problem was the hopper holds 100 badges. We found that upon the 50th or 60th badge the print quality was compromised (lines and clarity). If you do not plan on printing more that 50 badges at a time this printer is great. Otherwise I would opt for another printer.

Well just like most of you, our card printer died. So someone from our office got a quote from a local dealer and I could not believe how much they wanted for the card printer. So I went online and Google "ID card printer" and at the top of the list was ID Wholesaler. [...] The setup was very easy and we were printing in no time. The print quality on both side of the card is excellent, easy to load the cards in the hopper and the foot print is great. The one bad thing I could say about the printer that it is a bit noisy when printing, but I can still be on the phone with no problems. The two best things about ID Wholesalers are that no one beat their prices [...]. The price I paid for the ID card printer, warrantee, and supplies was the same price the local dealer quoted us for just only the printer.[...] YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH ID WHOESALERS!!!!

Our company uses this product daily. We purchased a Fargo DTC4500 printer 5 years ago. We processed, on the average, 30 badges, daily during this 5 year span. The performance of the old Fargo DTC4500 printer is what made us decide to stick with Fargo's printers in purchasing a replacement. We were highly satisfied with the old one's performance based on the abuse we put it through. The new printer is slimmer and more compact. We have had this printer approximately one month now. We are very excited on its performance. We find the cleaning kits and ribbons are expensive but, in comparison to other brands, their cost is comparible.
