This is among the worst pieces of technology I have recently purchased and I purchase quite a bit. The drivers appear to be the main issue. My primary computer is Win 7 64bit and the camera caused my computer to BSOD when disconnected. After rebooting I attempted to access the settings page. On every attempt with any program the program freezes until the camera is unplugged at which time the settings will appear. When you plug the camera back it the settings revert. So there is effectively no way to change the resolution or other settings. The options are accessible and I was able to use the face tracking option which seemed good. Most of the 'apps' on the CD are open source and are terrible. Trying Win 7 32 now and it's not any better. If you let it install the default drivers (not from the cd) you get the Agnt6 HD driver. This works better but doesn't have any of the advanced features such as the face tracking and the max resolution is much lower than the other. I couldn't get the 32 bit driver to recognize the camera was attached despite the fact it worked right away (in a limited capacity).I've been doing this type of work for a long time and when I get a driver disk that has a paper label and my computers seek loudly to read it I know it's going to be trouble. When the driver messages come up in broken english I know there is going to be trouble. When my computer BSODs I pack it up and send it back. All three... I may just throw it away to save someone else the hassle.Yes... It's that bad.

Effective solution, Exceptional value!

We searched for an image capture device that was twain compliant and did not cost a thousand dollars. Was skeptical with the low price but this little camera delivered. We use it with a variety of different software systems that rely on the USB twain interface. Works perfectly as an ID photo capture solution:

I like the Cred Cam. it is a good alternative when one can't afford a high end camera solution.
Poor Picture Quality
By Anna M.
from Birmingham, MI
The picture quality of this camera is really disappointing. It does not measure up to the quality or the IDs we are making - so we are having to take photos with a different camera and insert them later. I wish the quality were better because the ease of use to have the pic go right to the ID software is a great feature.
Merchant response: We appreciate your feedback, Anna, and are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your Credential Cam. The Credential Cam web cam is an easy-to-use solution for basic ID card photos when budget is a factor, and we fully stand behind the Credential Cam's 1 year warranty. Since the camera does not meet your expectations, your account manager will be contacting you to offer you a full refund, or the refund amount may be applied to a higher-resolution digital camera that will provide excellent image quality, as well as the convenience of integrating with your photo ID software. We sincerely thank you for your business and look forward to assisting you in the future!
Not The Best For Your Money
Out of the box, I noticed that the mounting threads looked somewhat stripped as if it was poorly manufactured or previously returned. We mounted it on a desktop tripod for taking ID photos, but had difficulty stabilizing the camera. We had to insert a piece of styrofoam between the camera and tripod to hold it in place. We were happy with the ease of operation and its TWAIN capabilty when running our ID software (We were tired of snapping pictures with a handheld camera and transferring them to the computer.) My biggest concern for this camera is the poor image quality. For the price, I thought we'd have clear crisp images. I should have read some reviews. We plan to scrap this camera and try an HD model.

Bought this camera as part of an ID printer kit. It is barely passable for taking ID photos. It has poor color and does not adjust to different lighting conditions well. I setup an ID photo area with proper softbox lighting and still didn't get good results. It works because it came as part of a kit, but I would never buy it standalone.

Good Image, Quality Only OK

About Me Quality Oriented
This is a camera I have not seen elsewhere. I think it may be proprietary. The quality is ok but it feels a little flimsy. OK for basic Photo ID needs
