What Ribbon Does My ID Card Printer Use?
There are two ways to find the manufacturer-approved ribbon for your specific printer’s make and model on IDWholesaler.com.
1. Search for your printer make and model (such as Fargo DTC1000) using the search bar at the top of IDWholesaler.com. Click to view your printer’s product detail page and then click the “Related Products” tab. Here you will find a link to your printer’s ribbon, as well as a number of other supplies made for your printer.
2. Use the ID Card Printer Supplies Selector. You can quickly and easily find any supply for your ID card printer with this tool by simply selecting the printer manufacturer, printer model, and supply type. It’s a great tool to bookmark for future ordering!

we have a fargo pro-lx card printer professional series card printer at work, i need to know what is the best ribbon to use in this machine to maximize printing cards.

An explanation of the 3 color ribbons available for the Pro-LX is below for your reference as well:
Fargo 81733 YMCKO ribbons are most commonly used for single-sided card printing. However, this is also the ribbon to use if you’re printing full-color and black resin on both sides of a card.
Fargo 81740 YMCKOK ribbons are used for dual-sided printing. The YMCKO panels print full-color and black resin on the front and then a clear Overlay panel is applied to the top of the card to help protect your printed image. The second K panel prints black resin on the back of the card.
Fargo 81738 YMCKK ribbons are also for dual-sided printing. The YMCK panels print full-color and black resin on the front of the card, and the second K panel prints black resin on the back of the card.
