The Digital Identification XID 450 is an excellent alternative for high volume, central issuance facilities, the Digital Identification XID 450 provides all of the features of the Digital Identification XID 430 and Digital Identification XID 440, and when using the SCSI-2 interface, the following additional features apply:

• NETencoding Management, which permits intelligent routing of print jobs and the accompanying chip encoding data in a network environment
• Intelligent Printer Management (IPM), which allows up to six Digital Identification XID 450 printers to be connected to a single PC or print server
• As many as 700 single-sided, full-color ID cards per hour using IPM and six interconnected XID 450 printers.

Ease of Use
Despite the performance, XID printer solutions are easy to operate. The printers feature a smart LCD display that provides printer status information via text messages and traffic light-type changes in the color of the LCD display (green=go/OK, yellow=warning, red=problem/stop).

Blank card stock is loaded into a pull-out drawer that can accommodate 300 standard cards, and cards can be added to the drawer while the printer is printing. The card drawer is removable and thus can be stored securely when the printer is not in use, and additional card drawers are available for customers that frequently alternate between card types.

Spools of the standard color ribbon (YMCK) and re-transfer film can print up to 1,000 single-sided cards before requiring replacement, and replacement is simplified by the use of color-coded cartridges.

Reliable Printing on Difficult Cards
The Digital Identification XID re-transfer technology makes it possible to print onto a variety of card materials with outstanding results, including cards made of PVC, PET 80/20 and 60/40, 100% PET, ABS and Polycarbonate. And the XID re-transfer printing process produces spectacular results compared to direct-to-card printers when printing onto cards containing electronic circuitry.

Encoding and Lamination Options
All models in the Digital Identification XID family are capable of producing 1D and 2D barcodes, and all models optionally support magnetic stripe encoding. The Digital Identification XID 440 and Digital Identification XID 450 can also support virtually any prevalent form of contact or contactless encoding, plus a variety of in-line lamination modules (reference the EDIsecure Overlamination Solutions brochure for additional details).

Investment Protection
Digital Identification XID printers can be upgraded at a later date to provide enhanced functionality. For example, via a firmware and driver change, a Digital Identification XID 430 can be upgraded to a Digital Identification XID 440 or Digital Identification XID 450 to provide support for chip encoding and/or lamination.
