Fargo 82137 CR8030 composite magnetic stripe cards are made of a composite PVC-PET material that is more durable then standard PVC cards and great for applications where they will be frequently handled or used in harsh environments. The 60% PVC / 40% PET composite cards are more resistant to heat then typical all PVC cards. Where normal PVC cards frequently warp from the heat transferred from a laminator or retransfer printer, composite cards will resist bending or warping and are ideal for both of these applications. They are also great for use in regular direct-to-card printers because of their durable construction.
The Fargo 82137 features a high coercivity magnetic stripe (called HiCo for short). HiCo magnetic stripes are ideal for high use applications such as access control because they are more durable. High coercivity cards store their information more securely then low coercivity because of the higher magnetic energy required to encode them or erase them. Composite magnetic stripe cards are designed for use in card printers with magnetic encoding capabilities.
Fargo 82137 composite magnetic stripe cards are graphic quality and are the CR8030 card size. CR8030 cards are 30mil thick and 3.375'' x 2.125'' (the most common card size available).
