Why Choose a Evolis ID System?

An ID system provides everything you need to quickly and easily get your card printing program up and running. While Evolis ID card printers can be purchased as stand-alone pieces of equipment, they do not come with all of the necessary supplies to begin making cards. It's very important, especially for first-time card printer users, to also get the supplies necessary for card production.

Our bundled Evolis systems contain supplies and equipment that seamlessly work together. Most systems include a Evolis printer, software, ribbon, camera, and cards. Plus, each system can easily be customized to varying needs. For example, you can change the type of card, add printer features (such as encoding, lamination, etc.), upgrade to a more advanced ID camera or ID software, and add extended warranty and/or loaner coverage.

Can I Print on Both Sides of my Cards with a Single-Sided Evolis System?

Technically, yes, you can print one side of your cards, load them back into your card hopper and send them through your printer again to print the other side. However, this is not only time consuming, it's also not recommended by Evolis as this practice tends to damage the sensitive printheads in card printers.

When you handle your cards after printing them, the cards will collect dust and debris from the air and oils from your hands. Putting cards that have been handled in this way back into your single-sided Evolis printer brings these contaminates into contact with your printer's printhead. This practice commonly causes printhead pixel damage which will not only affect the quality of your printed card output, it will also be expensive to fix. Once a printhead is damaged, the only way to fix it is to replace it with a new one. Plus, damage to a printhead from this type of non-standard use may even void printer warranty coverage.

The single-sided Evolis Primacy system can be upgraded to dual-sided printing as your needs change; however, if you need to print on both sides of your card now, shop for a dual-sided Evolis system.
