What Do I Need to Know about Kantech Proximity Cards?

These 26-bit ioProx Kantech cards are low frequency, 125 kHz cards and are pre-programmed.

Kantech ioProx proximity cards

The ioProx cards and fobs are dual encoded for protection against card duplication.
26-bit Wiegand format (W26).
Kantech eXtended Secure Format (XSF), capable of being encoded with over four billion codes.
Long-life passive cards and fobs for unlimited number of reads.
5 models to meet the requirements of any application.
Simply enter the credential information into your access control system.

How Do I Know that My Cards will be Compatible with My Reader?

There are three primary factors that affect compatibility between Kantech proximity cards and proximity card readers.

The reader must be capable of reading the card frequency. For example, the pcProx Plus Enroll Prox Card Reader can read 125 kHz prox cards and 13.56 MHz contactless cards.

Some readers are programmed to only read specific prox card formats (e.g., 26-bit, 37-bit, etc.).

Some readers are programmed to only read a proprietary card that must be reordered from the original proximity program provider.

While you can look at your card reader's specifications, the best way to ensure compatibility is to reorder the same Kantech proximity cards with the same configurations.
