How to Prevent Broken ID Cards

How to Prevent a Broken ID CardOccasionally, I'll have a customer tell me that their ID cards are breaking in between the void in the card from the slot punch and the edge of the card. This is a fairly common place for cards to break. Here are a few fixes to eliminate this problem for good:
  1. Switch to composite cards. Composite cards are made up of a mixture of PVC and Polyester and are much stronger and more durable than the standard PVC card is.
  2. Instead of punching the slot directly into the card, how about using a badge holder? There are many options like the all-weather resistant holders or the anti-print transfer holders that won’t stick to the ID card.
  3. Try the badge reels with card clamp. These nifty badge reels feature a patented attachment that clamps onto your card, eliminating the need for the slot punch.
  4. If you decide badge holders aren’t the best option for your application, try badge gripper. Available in black or white, our ingenious badge grippers use friction to keep your ID card securely placed for easy display.
