If you've asked yourself whether or not you
really need to add loaner coverage to your ID card printer or system, it's probably best to first think about how vital your card printing is to your day-to-day operations. Think about these two questions:
- What would happen if your card printer suddenly stopped operating?
- Would your operations seize or do you have a back-up plan?
If asking these questions gives you even the slightest twinge of panic that you
don't have a back-up plan in place, then loaner coverage may be the perfect solution for you.
What is Loaner Coverage?
With loaner coverage from ID Wholesaler, you can rest assured that if your ID card printer ever needs to

be repaired, you won't need to worry about operating without a fully operational printer. Loaner coverage ensures that the "business as usual" card printing you do will continue uninterrupted as the certified, factory-trained ID Wholesaler technicians repair your printer. Think of it as the perfect back-up plan for your ID card program.
How Does It Work?
- First, we recommend that you contact ID Wholesaler if you're having printer problems. If our Technical Support team is unable to diagnose a printer problem over the phone or via remote administration, you will need to return the printer to us for service.
- We will then ship a printer loaner replacement unit to you.
- Once it's repaired, your printer is sent back to you, and the loaner printer is returned to ID Wholesaler. Loaner units are shipped via overnight delivery service from ID Wholesaler.
Many of the printers we offer do have some initial loaner coverage with the original manufacturer warranty, but they rarely match in length. There is normally a one- or two-year gap, with the loaner coverage being on the short end.
To fill in the gap of the original manufacturer's warranty, we offer the following choices:
- Extended warranties
- Extended warranties with loaner
- Loaner coverage options
Play It Smart: Plan Ahead
Without the convenience of loaner coverage, you could potentially be without your printer for two to three weeks if you factor in the shipping to, shipping from, and repair time. If you can't afford your credential program being down for that amount of time, our loaner coverage is the smart way to go.
