A Printer Review from an ID Professional: XID 9300

Are you dissatisfied with your current ID card printer's performance and want a machine that was built to impress? Are you new to the ID printing world and don’t want to play the risk game with lower-end models? Or do you just want a truly professional-grade machine with a performance record that speaks for itself? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, I'd strongly recommend the EDIsecure XID 9300 Reverse Transfer ID Card Printer. This is a printer that will go the distance (and then some!) when it comes to the production of exceptional quality ID cards, especially where security is a key requirement. The 9300 printer is a high-end reverse transfer printer that, in my opinion, is the best of the best. Its over-the-edge printing results look amazing on a wide variety of plastic card stock, including PVC, PET, ABS, and polycarbonate. The uneven surfaces are no match for the printing power behind 9300; smart cards come out looking as great as even-surfaced cards every single time.

Ryan's Point of View: Most Outstanding & Notable Printer Features

  • Rugged yet compact design The XID 9300 features heavy-duty housing to protect its internal parts for long-lasting use and offers a size that's perfect for virtually any workspace – even a relatively small area.
  • Largest card thickness accepted If you're in the market for a printer that can differentiate your organization's ID cards from the rest of the pack, the XID 9300 is a wise choice. With one of the industry's largest range of cards accepted, the XID 9300 can accommodate cards from 10 – 55mil with encoder and up to 10 – 80mil without encoder.
  • No printhead replacement costs Most reverse transfer printers include a lifetime printhead warranty. This is an excellent benefit about choosing a printer with this printing capability, because printheads can be very expensive to repair or replace.
  • Exceptional print quality Reverse transfer printing provides superior, "over-the-edge" print quality, creating brilliant and color-rich images and text. Since the printhead does not come into contact with the card, the ink is printed on the film is fused directly onto the card, dramatically minimizing the risk of printhead damage and downtime.
  • Simple operation The operating panel has an easy-to-read LCD display for easy setup and operation and provides low ribbon warnings, cleaning notifications, automatic ribbon detection, and more. Because this printer model is so easy to use, it's also very quick and simple to train first-time end users on operating it.
Ryan's Recommended Upgrades What I like most about the XID 9300 is that it offers three different upgrades to fully optimize an organization's ID card program:
  • Single-sided or dual-sided lamination units can easily be added to this printer which will substantially increase the durability and lifespan of ID cards.
  • Encoding modules provide for magnetic stripe prox, contact and/or contactless technology cards, making this printer ideal for a wide variety of Fortune 100 companies.
  • Printer locks and a lockable output hopper help prevent theft, forgery, and counterfeiting.
If you're new to ID card printing, many of the customers I've worked with have really benefited from a training session with our Tech Support Team. Whatever your training needs are, your session can be customized based on your requirements.  Customer Comments about the XID 9300:
