Tips for Multi-Location ID Badging Programs

Tips for Multi-Location ID Badging Programs ID Wholesaler works with organizations of all sizes. From the small start-up business to larger corporations, we pride ourselves on tailoring a solution for each individual company. But what about multi-location ID badging? A number of large - or even global - corporations have the need for implementing ID badging stations in multiple locations. Here are two great options for companies with a multiple-location ID badging program. Option 1: Multiple printing stations If badges are needed on-demand, a complete badging system must be installed at every location. Depending on which workstation will be creating the badges, you can connect the printer via USB or Ethernet. The software stored on the workstation can be stand-alone for this facility or can be networked to share and update information with other locations across a network. Sharing information is beneficial for organizations that have employees or visitors that travel between different offices for both security and convenience purposes. If a centralized database is shared, it will be easy to verify the contact as valid by searching the database. This also would allow you to reprint a credential in the event it was lost or misplaced. Option 2: One printing station The second option for businesses with multiple offices would be to print from multiple locations to one centralized printer. The easiest way to do this would require the card printer to be installed with an Ethernet port so that it could be shared on your network and viewed by the other offices. As mentioned in the previous solution, there are networkable versions of ID software that would allow any office with the program installed to create and print a badge from their office and send the file across the network to the printer. As you can see, there options available for any organization.
