  Unlike most inkjet printers that prints back-and-forth and from side-to-side, the Swiftcolor SCC4000D printer uses a single-pass printhead technology that allows it to print pictures very quickly and eliminates the need for pre-printed cards. The printheads are as wide as the media you are printing on. Since only the media moves during the printing process, this allows for impressive print speeds. The SCC400D can print 3.5 x 5.5 inches full-color cards in just two seconds. In addition, the Swiftcolor printer prints 100 sheets/min. of business cards (2.2 x 3.6 inches)(55 x 91mm), 45 sheets/min. for postcards (3.9 x 5.8 inches)(100 x 148mm), and 28 sheets/ min. for envelopes (9.3 x 4.7 inches)(235 x 120mm).

  Equipped with ink tanks and a maintenance cartridge, the SCC4000D comes ready to print beautiful credentials. The SCC4000D uses 105 mil multi-color waterbased dye ink in four colors: yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (bk). The maintenance cartridge is part of the SCC4000D cleaning cycle. The cartridge helps absorb excess ink during the printing process. The SCC4000D has a status monitor that will inform you of the percentage level of absorbed ink. The SCC4000D will not print when the maintenance cartridge is full, but changing the cartridge is extremely easy.
