No matter what ID program you are using, you have two options for attaching your photo to the ID card. You can either browse to the file you have saved, or you can capture that photo using a TWAIN-compliant camera. This means that you'll have an actual live preview of the person standing in front of you waiting to get their photo taken. Best of all, you can operate the camera right from your keyboard.
Adding a face finder plug-in to your camera set up will also save you minutes per card by automatically finding the face you're taking a photo of and automatically cropping with just a couple clicks.
Can you use a camera you already have in place? Possibly, but it may not be a device that is TWAIN-compliant. This basically means that you will not have the live preview option.
Instead, you'll have to take the photo, save it to your PC, and browse to it from within the ID software. Being able to quickly capture and attach photos to your card record is key to a successful ID program. There are separate TWAIN drivers that can be installed, such as InPhoto Capture.
ID Wholesaler offers three TWAIN-compliant cameras which have been thoroughly tested and bundled with our favorite ID card printers/ID software options.
