I believe there is a spot in the market for every card printer ID Wholesaler offers, but I do have my favorites. While many of the card printers available will give you the same results as far as print quality and reliability, a few stand out to me as superior to the others.
Entry-Level Applications
Nisca’s PR-C101 is in line price wise with many entry level printers, but has a MTBF rating (mean time before failure) of 50,000 cards. This is by far the best bet for limited budgets requiring basic single sided cards. The PR-C101 also comes with a 3 year warranty, including 3 years of loaner coverage! Plus, it’s small and super easy to use.
Mid to High Level Applications
For mid to high end applications involving technology cards, my all time favorite is the EDISecure line. Recently revamped, these printers offer modularity and reliability for demanding applications. The XID 8300 uses re-transfer printing technology, ideal for uneven card surfaces containing contact or contactless chips and at a price point in line with many direct to card printers. If you want the most for your money, this is the way to go.
High Volume Applications
For high volume applications printing in full color, the XID 9330 is my favorite. The XID 9330’s intelligent print management feature allows you to daisy chain multiple printers together reaching speeds of up to 840 cards per hour! This is truly an investment worth making for applications that are growing and changing. It's way more cost effective to add on to your current ID system than it is to start from scratch. You can add pretty much anything to this printer and it will print on a wide variety of card types!
