Understanding Corporate 1000 Proximity Cards, Part 2

Part 1 of our Corporate 1000 Proximity Cards blog series covered a description of the program and by HID HID Corporate 1000 Proximity Cardsand a number of the benefits it can provide larger organizations, including:
  • An increased level of security
  • A wider range of credential numbers
  • The elimination of duplicate card production
This blog focuses on which types of companies this access control solution works best for, the timeframe of enrolling in the program, and the cost of participating in the program. What are the general requirements? Although HID does not have an official list of qualifications in order to participate in the Corporate 1000 Program, the vast majority of companies requesting participation are accepted. HID recommends that corporations meet the following Corporate 1000 prox card usage criteria in order to receive the most value from the program:
  • the need for a more sophisticated and secure card format
  • multiple facilities or locations across the country or globally
  • more than a single card purchasing decision maker
  • cards and/or card readers that operate at high volumes
How does a company enroll in the Corporate 1000 Program? Enrollment in the HID Corporate 1000 Program is as simple as completing and submitting the Corporate 1000 Authorization and Change Forms (these forms are located under “Additional Resources” on Corporate 1000 ID card product pages). After the Corporate 1000 Authorization and Change Forms are submitted to HID, processing and shipment can be expected within two weeks. Is there a cost to participate? There is no charge for Corporate 1000 prox card format development or initial set-up. However, it’s important to note that Corporate 1000 card configurations are custom and are therefore not returnable.
