Many companies and organizations use proximity cards for their access control system as well as IDs for employees, time and attendance programs, gift cards, and more.
Proximity cards have an antenna embedded into the card, so if you’re considering using a slot punch you will need to be sure to punch the slot in the correct spot on the card so as not to damage the antenna or chip.
If the antenna within the proximity card is damaged, your card will be damaged and will not work. Since these cards can cost anywhere from $3 to $8+ per card, it’d be a waste to damage these cards because of a mistake that can be easily avoided!
As an alternative to punching a slot in the card and potentially damaging the integrity of the card, why not use an attachment known as a gripper?
