The DTC5500LMX is the next-generation of its prominent workhorse predecessor, the discontinued heavy-duty DTC500 printer. The new printer is in a class all its own, boasting superior quality, high-volume card production with reliable overall performance. The outstanding new features of the DTC5500LMX put this printer far ahead of its dye-sublimation printer competition:
- Wasteless lamination – Instead of a traditional laminating
printer's supply and take-up cores, LMX wasteless engineering employs a single supply roll and rounded laminate corners for indexing (instead of notches), leaving no unused patches on the core. Because the entire patch is being used, wasteless lamination translates into increased card coverage (95.5% coverage versus the average 88% coverage). It also accounts for substantial savings in consumables expenses – up to 50% savings. Plus, you can also count on a significant reduction in overall cost-per-card.
- iON technology – Using HID Fargo's progressive iON technology, the necessary time for warming up the laminator is dramatically reduced from up to five minutes to an impressive 45 seconds.
