Which ID Card Holders are FIPS Approved?

FIPS Approved ID Card Holders

The Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 201 or "FIPS 201" is a requirement for U.S. government agencies to take precautions for secure photo ID credentials. The main focus is on IT-related products like ID card printers, printer supplies, and badge accessories to meet and maintain a common level of quality and standards which will allow the government facilities to verify a card holder’s identity.

We carry four different FIPS approved ID card holders, and each features a special layer of shielded material to prevent unauthorized or unknown access. In addition, this layer protects the stored information on contactless credit or debit cards or any 13.56 MHz RFID technology card – like MIFARE, iClass, PIV, CAC, TWIC, and FRAC cards – from cloning or skimming.

Single Card Badge Holders
The Shielded Badge Sleeves safeguard sensitive information from any contactless card or RFID technology card. They are water- and tear-resistant, making them ideal for storing in a purse or wallet if not often removed or used.

The Rigid Shielded Badge Holders are made of ABS, which is a rigid and durable plastic material for data protection and long-lasting use. They can be attached to any lanyard, badge reel, or strap clip and can be worn vertically or horizontally.

Two-Card Badge Holders
The Clear Vinyl Smart Card Holders can hold up to two standard CR8030 cards. Worn vertically, these flexible shielded holders feature a slot and dual chain holes for easy lanyard or chain attachment.

Made of Lexan – a rugged, highly-durable yet flexible material that is resistant to cracking – the Rigid Smart Card Holders hold up to two standard-sized CR8030 cards. The holders include two thumb notches for easy removal of each card.
